Paint Tappers

Paint Tappers

At the shipyard at the Buriganga river front in Dhaka ships are repaired instead of broken down (which happens in Chittagong in the south of Bangladesh). Repainting is one of the common activities, but the old paint must be taken off first.

When you cross the Buriganga river towards the dock yard, a penetrating sound gets louder and louder. Imagine 15 workers constantly tapping their hammers on an empty steel ship..., but then for 10 hours a day. Earning a living is not easy in Bangladesh.
